Half of Storage Experts Have a Performance Bottleneck

Most Have SQL Server Performance Problems

Between October 2021 and January 2022, Gatepoint Research invited selected IT, Data, Analytics and Storage executives to participate in a survey themed Modern Approaches to Data Storage. There are over 100 participants to date. Gatepoint Research and Pavilion created an infographic of the survey results.

Respondents represent executive management, senior decision-makers, and highly qualified experts (such as engineers, data scientists, data architects and analysts, and storage administrators).

What are organizations doing to make the best use of their data?

This survey asked:

    • How much data do they manage and what kind of storage do they use?
    • Is their organization’s data stored on-premise or in the cloud and what storage network infrastructure(s) are in place?
    • What challenges do they have working with data and what would improve their ability to manage/store/process/analyze data?

Data, the heartbeat of business, can grow to unmanageable volumes quickly. Organizations that leverage data growth to inform real time decisions are ahead of the competition. The survey found that almost 80% of respondents use SQL Server. But many reported that a SQL Server performance bottleneck was holding them back.

To help organizations accelerate SQL Server’s performance and get more from their data, we released a SQL Server Reference Architecture. We also posted a series of fireside chats with a leading SQL Server Consultant, David Klee, that covered how SQL Server benefits from the Pavilion HFA and its use of NVMe-oF.

Join us on March 3, 2022 at 10AM Pacific for a webinar featuring the CEO and Founder of GatePoint Research to learn more about the survey process and all of the results.
