Pavilion offers the most performant, dense, scalable, and flexible data storage platform in the universe.
That is quite a claim, and Pavilion has the proof to back it up.
This is the fourth of a four-part blog series that will address each of the performance, density, scalability and flexibility claims. This one focuses on flexibility and demonstrates how the Pavilion HyperParallel Data Platform delivers customers more choice and control than any other storage platform in the universe.
Every data center has a combination of workloads. Some applications, such as databases, require the high performance and low latency of block storage. Other applications are better suited to file sharing. And increasingly, modern applications are taking advantage of the massive capacity object storage offers.
Only the Pavilion HyperParallel Data Platform is capable of delivering high performance for all three data storage types on a single platform. With up to 20 controllers per system, the Pavilion HyperParallel Data Platform runs one data type natively on any combination of controllers.
For example, a given system could have six controllers supporting block data, 8 controllers handling file data, and the remaining six writing to an object store. Each controller would support a given protocol at full performance. Protocols can be changed with the click of a button.
This is in contrast to legacy systems which typically run one protocol on a controller and then layer a second protocol on top of the first. The result is extremely poor performance for the second protocol.
That is why so few data centers actually use more than one protocol on a given system. Instead they use the best system for a given data type, which results in data sprawl and management headaches as admins deal with multiple interfaces and vendors.
Pavilion eliminates this problem with the most flexible data storage platform in the universe.
The Pavilion Difference
HyperParallel Data Platform delivers unmatched performance for block, file, and object workloads. Best in class performance, for each workload, simultaneously. That performance is delivered in a compact 4RU footprint, and scales linearly across any number of systems, in any combination, without limits. That is the Pavilion difference.
